1st Generation Frontiers are the evolved version of the Nissan Hardbody Pickup. They are still relatively reliable, small pickups that have the fuel economy of a midsize. There aren’t any major engineering flaws, it is a truck that is simply designed to go. They are similar to 1st Generation Toyota Tacomas, and can likely be had for less money.
Exhaust manifolds have a tendency to crack after 150k miles on 1st gen Frontiers. Parts and labor to replace failed manifolds with re-engineered ones typically runs around $1200.
